Held at the Social Development office, the meetings were geared towards discussing the concerns of the labour market and laws pertaining to employment agencies and the public.

In his remarks Hon. Williams stated that the Department seeks to develop a well functioning labour market from which our islands can benefit as we the "Turks & Caicos Islands" moves into the future. He also stressed that employment services are a major and very important part of any well functioning labour market and the Department of Labour is more than prepared and willing to assist anyone.

The specific objectives reached during the meetings were:

• To provide an introduction to International Human Rights Principles;
• To introduce International Conventions on Migrant Workers and on Private Employment Agencies;
• To discuss Policy and Procedure, relative to the migrant worker;
• To outline the responsibilities of Private Employment Agencies under our law and policy.

Following the morning session of meeting the Department of Labour launched their official website. Hon. Williams is confident that a venture such as this will improve efficiency in providing service to the public.
